POSITION SUMMARY:
Jigsaw is looking for a part time Mental Health & Wellbeing Clinical
Lead (Schools) on a fixed-term, 3 year basis.
This contract is being offered on a shorter working year basis. Time
worked will be in line with the Post primary academic year and will be
* working weeks out of *
per annum. The Clinical Lead role equates to 3 days per week i.e.
*.5 hours per week, and the working hours
across the week can be negotiated as per our flexible working policy.
There will be some evening work required occasionally in terms of
delivering evening webinars and online events. Salary is in line with
the below salary range and has been pro-rata'd to reflect the part
time nature of the role, spread over * weeks.
The Mental Health & Wellbeing Clinical Lead (Schools) will work as a
member of the Mental Health Promotion Team in Jigsaw. They will
provide clinical knowledge, oversight and expertise to support the
development and implementation of Jigsaw’s 3-year programme of work
TO PROVIDE WELLBEING AND MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORTS FOR POST-PRIMARY
SCHOOLS, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGICAL
SERVICE (NEPS)/ DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. The role is suited to
experienced social workers, mental health nurses,
clinical/counselling/educational psychologists, psychotherapists and
occupational therapists with significant mental health experience in a
community-based setting. The successful candidate will work
collaboratively with the Mental Health & Wellbeing Schools
Coordinators and the eLearning Team to develop and deliver a broad
range of training opportunities for school leaders, school staff,
student support teams and parents. They will also work collaboratively
with clinical colleagues in ensuring an evidence-based and integrated
approach to the development of Jigsaw’s wellbeing and mental health
supports for post-primary schools.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced mental
health professional who will utilise and apply their clinical
knowledge and experience to support our multi-component programme of
supports and resources for schools. They will have the skills and
competencies to support the development of innovative and interactive
programmes and training which can be delivered, both in person and
online, for teachers, school staff and parents. They will also be
central to the development of curriculum-based sessions for students,
which will be delivered by teachers in the classroom.
This post provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to
avail of flexible working arrangements and Jigsaw will also ensure
that they avail of opportunities to link in with relevant established
clinical structures within the organisation to engage with the wider
clinical workforce e.g. Clinical Leader Jigsaw Learning Networks, CPD,
etc.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide clinical oversight and work collaboratively with
colleagues on the Schools Team to develop a range of relevant content,
courses, training and resources as part of Jigsaw’s national
programme of wellbeing and mental health supports for post-primary
schools.
* Ensure that the content/materials produced are informed by the
best available evidence as well as the needs of the various target
audiences and aligned with Jigsaw’s Conceptualisation of Mental
Health.
* Ensure that all materials and resources are accurate, engaging and
inclusive in terms of accessible language and terminology, and in
keeping with Jigsaw’s EDI Policy.
* Stay current with national and international research and evidence
in wellbeing and youth mental health education, promotion and training
and ensure that Jigsaw’s programme of supports and resources is
informed by evidence and best practice.
* Contribute to the development of an annual work plan for
Jigsaw’s work with schools, identifying actions, deliverables and
annual KPIs.
* Participate in ongoing professional development, Jigsaw Learning
Networks and relevant training opportunities.
* Be flexible and willing to work evenings and occasional weekends,
as required.
* Participate as a member of the wider Jigsaw team in team meetings
and other relevant fora.

REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
This is a senior clinical role best suited to experienced mental
health professionals from the following disciplines:
* Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical/Counselling/Educational
Psychology. (Psychologists who gained their qualification/s outside of
the Republic of Ireland must provide a copy of their Letter of
Validation from the Department of Health at application stage)
* Social Workers registered with CORU
* Occupational Therapists registered with CORU
* Mental Health Nurses registered with An Bord Altranais
* Psychotherapists accredited by the Irish Council for Psychotherapy
(ICP) or the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
(IACP),
EXPERIENCE:
* A minimum of 5 years' full-time or equivalent experience working
in a mental health service / setting
* Knowledge and experience of applying evidence-informed mental
health knowledge and skills to support young people’s mental health
* In-depth understanding of the determinants of youth mental health
* Proven ability to manage and prioritise a complex programme of
work, to organise a varied workload, to take initiative, work
independently and to work to tight deadlines
* Experience of deploying a wide variety of presentation, training
and facilitation skills and techniques to ensure best learning
outcomes for participants
* Excellent communication skills, across various media, with a wide
range of audiences
* Flexible, solution-focused approach and attitude
* Strong IT Skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
Outlook
* Full, clean driving licence & access to a car essential for this
role.
DESIRABLE:
* Direct experience of working in education settings in the area of
mental health and wellbeing
* Experience of working therapeutically with young people aged
* years
* An understanding of the national policy context for mental health
and wellbeing in education settings in Ireland, and in particular
post-primary schools
* Experience in using a range of tools to create content in a
variety of formats for a range of users (e.g. canva, flipbook,
learning management systems).
